A world where humain beings create an autonomous AI that frees them from all tasks. So... Over the years, not being made to be inactive, they become depressed and addicted to artificial Happiness.
In a world where everyone is affected by depression, people develop a range of additional mental problems. Many people describe depression as a "thing that follows you and haunts you". Being all affected by this psychological disorder, people start having visions, and sharing them. They see monsters, entities and all other terrifying appearances. Over the years, these "things" become "real" and they terrorize human beings. They see them, hear them and feel their presence, even if the monsters are not real.
