Numerica Decima - creature concept (part 1)

For the end of my BAC, I decided to work on a collaboration project with two other friends for
seven weeks. Gabriel Perreault have create a Tabletop role-playing game system. Base on his work I help him with the visual of the monster in is games system.
I work with the document that give a little description of the fourteen different world of his game. For each world I have a brief description of the fauna and flora with a small moodboard of the environment to give a general idea. As a result, I had several direct lines to follow, but Gabriel gave me “carte blanche” on several elements when the time came to create the monsters.
By the time I work on the monster and on the character design because we decide to star a game to playtest his system. Sarah Patry work on the environment.
Here you will find the concept art for three of world.

The first design came to me with the idea of a body of a canid-style animal in decomposing so the forest floor with the time came to cover it.

I played with other colors to create variations based on where he was in the environment. This also gives me the opportunity to vary the colors with the seasons.

The gloom design was also well adapted to the world of Chain

I came out of the color palette because it did not work with the creature's design or the environment. I still tried to incorporate blue and red burgundy.
